Hi guys
As you probably know, Halo Anniversary will be released on Tuesday, 15th (I don't want to make some jealous people, but I got it today before everyone muahaha ), and I though that Halo fans could gather here to talk about the game or any Halo game !
First, I'd like to give a small review of the game (I don't think this needs spoiler tags, I guess you've all more or less played Halo CE before,ain't it ? ).

I felt happy when getting the game, when I came back home I've installed Halo on the HDD(because it seems if you don't install it it'll not be at its best), then I landed on the familiar main menu and started the campaign in the Legendary mode (I have never finished any Halo game in legendary-shame on me- but I've played few levels in CE before).
What can I say ? The graphics, they're good, it's not as beautiful as GoW 3 but it's still a very good change (you can switch between the old graphics and recent ones).
Dialogs ? Well, they're the same as CE ones, nothing has changed, but I noticed (in the french version though, maybe it doesn't affect english versions) that the lip-sync isn't very good and sometimes dialogs are overlapping themselves (eg:Cortana says something but before she finishes she already started saying something else :s ).
It isn't a big issue though, just a statement I made.

About the gameplay. I first felt like I was controlling a fat dude, but that's normal, I haven't played CE for a while so the
movements are slower than in recent Halo games, I just had to be used to the moon-jump and slow movements and it was all fine.
Weapons are the same, they've changed sounds though, same thing for melee hits.
I also noticed some kind of lag during the cutscenes (and even once during the warthog scene in the Halo level) but it's not really bothering.

For now I like the game (what did you expect ? ), it's a pleasure to do the whole campaign with the new graphics (and directly in legendary, even if that means dying 10 times on a same spot because marines die too fast or rush knowing they're going to be killed by plasma nade ).

About the multiplayer, I obviously couldn't test it as the servers aren't on yet (plus it's Reach's gameplay, so...), I think the maps will be nice, and if you worried about things like "will my character from Reach keep his armor/helmets/etc ?" the answer is yes
So, feel free to say anything aoubt the game (and trolls, go out and play bf3/mw3 plskthxbai).

Hello, as you know today it's Halloween, and I thought this was a good idea to tell us your opinion about this event.
Do you celebrate it ? Is it still celebrated or is it rejected in your country ?
What do you do for halloween ? ...

In France we don't celebrate (or very few people do) Halloween, we did in the early 2000's but people considered it as a marketing event more than anything (then I wonder what is Christmas, if not a marketing event...), plus the catholics didn't like this day, as we have November 1st as the "Toussaint" (our halloween if you prefer, but not really festive, it consists in bringing flowers to the graveyard to remember dead people etc), so it simply left the culture, too "american" as they say.
Personnally, I like Halloween, during 1999/2000... I used to disguise and go with some friends ring the bells and ask for candies, but then I stopped doing this when the event died.
I still have rubber pumpkins and stuff that I like putting on october 31th but that's all.
What I love though ,is that more and more games tend to celebrate Halloween (Wow,Guild Wars, TF2, even Red Dead Redemption last year with the zombie dlc), the festive spirit remains in these games.
That's a shame this day became pretty "forgotten" (even though I've seen many pumpkins at the supermarket today, with people buying them, and we've seen 2-3 kids disguised, maybe it'll return ?).
For the first time (well, second time but the first one wasn't really a pumpkin), I've carved myself a pumpkin and exposed it in my living room, I'm proud of it

Don't make a fuss about the fact this topic is slightly too early, that was for copyright purposes (as always, hum...).
So, yeah, our (inter)national brit' deserves one more awesome birthday topic, and as always I invite everyone to wish him an happy birthday and offer him a little something !
On my side I'll offer ya my tutored project, as I promised once, but that'll only be on the afternoon (I'm busy with this during the morning), I'll have to check some little things and see if it runs on Windows (else you'll have to get Linux, muehehe ).
And if it won't run, I'll make some cool posing or something

Hey, I just got this idea, in this topic you can tell us different "situations" that would happen IRL if you have played too much videogames.

Eg:
You have played too much Fallout when you're collecting bottle caps, thinking they can be used as money.
You have played too much Pokémon when you're trying to catch animals with pokéballs..
etc.

I start : You have played too much Splinter Cell when you try to see if you're completely hidden in the shadows.


If we run out of ideas maybe we can use movie references later.

Hey, I was thinking about this, we have topics for best games ever, best tv shows..
But what about one for nostalgia ?
I suggest that we put here any memories of our childhood (or other moments of your life, especially if you're too old to remember your childhood ) for the pleasure, or because you want to do so or whatever It can just be the memory of the day, or the one that you have always kept in mind, or anything !
I start:
I'm currently getting a lot of anime memories in my head (especially Pokémon because I could watch almost 3 entire-old-seasons on a tv channel till yesterday, when they swapped to shitty newer ones, this made me angry ! ).Pokémon, and very old stuff I watched with my brother, years back, like Saint Seiya, GI Joe, Golden Cities,Highlander....
And this leads to the good old time I had in Morrocco, during summers, with the swimming pool, friends, some Halo games with a mate, anime watching, various games we played, some rubber weapons we used to "hunt" neighbour's cats....Wooooooooo.

And now, it became boring, my garden is too small to play outside (and I hate bugs), I'm just working and playing video games...And I watch some old animes to remember these times (and I also want to play with old consoles, muehehe).
